Paul Denis is an associate at Aegis Law Firm. He focuses his practice on labor and employment litigation, representing employees against employers in both wage and hour class action and individual claims, including allegations of employee misclassification, off-the-clock work, and meal and rest period violations. In addition, Mr. Denis also has experience prosecuting claims of workplace discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and the negotiation of severance packages.
Mr. Denis has worked on both sides of the aisle, representing defendants and plaintiffs in all phases of civil litigation. Before Aegis Law Firm, he worked at a general litigation defense firm, where he represented health care providers in all aspects of healthcare liability, along with defending businesses in construction defect and product liability cases. As an associate with a boutique class action litigation firm situated in Irvine, California, Mr. Denis represented employees from Silicon Valley regarding layoffs, severance packages, and retaliation for asserting their legally protected rights.
While in law school, Mr. Denis clerked for a music copyright attorney researching emerging issues in the music industry and assisting in several successful multimillion dollar award arbitrations. Additionally, he interned with an immigration law firm, and the non-profit Alliance for Children’s Rights, advocating for the underrepresented in the Los Angeles area.
Mr. Denis received his J.D. from Loyola Law School of Los Angeles in 2010, his M.A. in Political Science from the California State University of Los Angeles in 2007, and his B.S. in Spanish Linguistics and Sociology from Georgetown University in 2001. Mr. Denis is fluent in both written and spoken Spanish, and is admitted to practice in state and federal courts in California.
